Thobes for Men — Modest Islamic Thobes & Robes

A thobe is more than a garment. It's a long, modest robe worn by Muslim men across the world — also called a thawb, jubba, kandura, or dishdasha, depending on where you're from. Same idea. Different name.

At Furqanwear, every thobe is built for the brother living between two worlds. Toronto winters and Eid prayer grounds. The boardroom and the masjid. Premium fabric. Clean tailoring. Shipped from Toronto to Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and across Europe.

You're not asking for acceptance. You're claiming what was already yours.

Thobe Styles We Carry

Every region of the Muslim world has its own cut. We carry six. Each one carries its own weight.

Royal Thobe

The flagship. Premium fabric, sharp tailoring, refined detail. Built for the moments that matter — Eid, weddings, the Jumu'ah you want to show up to properly.

Saudi Thobe

Highly structured collar. Crisp cuffs. The most formal cut we carry. The same silhouette is worn by imams in Makkah and Madinah.

Moroccan Thobe

Light fabric. Often half-sleeved. Distinctive embroidery along the neckline and chest. Made for breathability and quiet elegance.

Emirati Thobe

Collarless. Structured. The signature tassel — the tarboosh — sits at the neckline. Gulf elegance with a modern profile. Also called the kandura.

Omani Thobe

Similar to the Emirati but lighter and softer. Side tassel. Less formal. Made for everyday wear without losing the dignity of the garment.

Djellaba

Loose-fitting. Often hooded. Rooted in North African tradition. The cut that moves with you — from the masjid to the street without missing a beat.

Which Thobe Is Right for You?

  • For Jumu'ah and Daily Wear: Cotton blend. Royal or Moroccan. Breathable enough to forget you're wearing it. Sharp enough to remember.

  • For Eid and Weddings: Saudi Thobe in white. Or a Royal in a deeper tone. This is when you go formal.

  • For Cold Weather: Heavier fabric. Layer it. The thobe was made for the desert, but it carries fine through a Toronto winter when you pair it right.

  • For Formal & Evening Occasions: Black thobe. Any style. The darker tone does the work — weddings, evening prayers, gatherings where you want to carry yourself with weight.

  • For the Sunnah-conscious brother: White thobe. Every time. The Prophet ﷺ wore white and that alone is reason enough. Clean, modest, and carries a presence
    That needs no explanation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a thobe?
A thobe is a long, ankle-length robe traditionally worn by Muslim men across the Middle East, North Africa, and the wider Muslim world. It goes by different names depending on the region — thawb in Saudi Arabia, jubba in South Asia, kandura in the UAE, dishdasha in Oman and Kuwait. The garment stays the same: modest, comfortable, dignified.
What's the difference between a thobe and a jubba?
They're the same garment, different names. "Thobe" comes from the Arabic thawb, meaning garment. "Jubba" is a variation more common in South Asia. The cut, the purpose, and the meaning don't change.
Is a thobe the same as a kandura or dishdasha?
Yes. Kandura is the Emirati name. Dishdasha is used in Oman and Kuwait. Different regions, same garment. The Emirati kandura tends to be collarless with a tassel. The Saudi thobe has a structured collar. The cut differs — the category doesn't.
Which thobe is best for Eid?
For Eid, the Saudi Thobe in white or the Royal Thobe in a deeper tone. Both carry the formality the occasion deserves. The Royal Thobe is our most popular Eid choice — premium fabric, refined tailoring, built for the moments that matter.
What sizes are available?
XS through 3XL on most styles. Sizing is based on chest, shoulder, and neck-to-ankle length. If you're between sizes, we recommend going up one — the thobe should drape, not pull. The full-size chart is on every product page.
What fabric is best for a thobe?
Cotton is the most breathable, best for daily wear, hot weather, and long prayers. Cotton-polyester blends are wrinkle-resistant and hold their shape better — best for Eid, weddings, and formal events. Heavier blends suit cold-weather wear.
Where does Furqanwear ship Men's Thobes?
We ship from Toronto to Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and across the EU, fully tracked with local currency. Free shipping over $50 CAD (CA/US), $250 AUD/NZD (AU/NZ), and €100 EUR (Europe). Duties included to CA/US/AU/NZ (orders under $1,000); EU orders ship DDU, with import VAT and duty paid on delivery.
Will I pay customs or import duties?
It depends on your region. Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand: duties and taxes are included on international orders under $1,000 — no surprise fees. European Union: orders ship DDU, so import VAT, customs duty and the carrier's clearance fee are paid by you on delivery, set by your country's customs.
How long does shipping take?
Canada: 1–3 business days. USA: 2–7 business days. Europe: 10–14 business days. Australia: 10–20 business days. New Zealand: 14–20 business days. Add 2–3 days for processing.
Can I return a thobe if the fit isn't right?
Yes, within 14 days for orders in Canada, the USA and the EU (EU return shipping is at the customer's cost). For Australia and New Zealand, we're currently unable to accept international returns — so please check the size guide before ordering, or message us at info@furqanwear.com and we'll help you choose the right fit.
