A Yemeni shemagh is a men's headscarf — a square of breathable cotton worn folded over the head, draped across the shoulders, or looped around the neck. What marks it as Yemeni is the pattern: a plain ground with an embroidered paisley border and corner medallion, rather than the black-and-white fishnet weave of the keffiyeh.

How to Wear a Yemeni Shemagh?

1. Head covering — for Eid salah and Jummah. Fold into a triangle, drape over the head, secure loosely.
   
   

2. Shoulder wrap — for Taraweeh, nikah and formal occasions. Drape over one shoulder across your thobe. The most recognised formal styling in the Muslim world. Pairs with our men's thobes.
