Ten years ago, the thobe came out of the closet twice a year. Now brothers are wearing it on an ordinary Tuesday — and if you have been to Jummah lately, you have seen it.

Three things changed. The fabrics got lighter, so the old reputation of stiff and hot no longer holds. The styling shifted — a thobe with clean sneakers and a watch reads as everyday clothing, not formalwear. And it is simply easier: one piece, ten seconds, done.
