Care Instructions

Tassel Care: The tassels are delicate. Hand wash is best. If using a machine, you MUST place the Keffiyeh in a Mesh Laundry Bag. Without a bag, tassels will tangle and knot during the spin cycle.

Wash Separately: Colored cotton can release excess dye on the first wash. Wash separately or with like colors to prevent bleeding.

No Tumble Dry: Heat causes cotton shrinkage and frizzes the tassels. Always hang to dry.

Restore the Shape: After washing, give it a gentle shake and pull the corners slightly to reshape the square before hanging.

Black Keffiyeh Scarf – The Original

It is the most recognized scarf on earth.

The black keffiyeh has been worn by Muslim and Arab men for over a century — from Palestinian farmers in the 1930s to scholars, leaders, and brothers in the West today. Not because it became popular. Because it was always there, woven into the fabric of who we are before the world decided to notice.

This is not a fashion piece. It never was. It is a uniform — and it is the original.

What Makes This Keffiyeh Scarf Different

The black keffiyeh is the most traditional variation of the keffiyeh — woven in the pattern that has defined Arab identity across generations.

The fishnet weave pattern represents the connection to the Mediterranean Sea. The bold lines running through it represent the ancient trade routes that carried Islamic civilization across the world. Every thread in this pattern carries a meaning that was placed there long before it became a symbol.

Woven from a breathable cotton blend — structured enough to hold a clean drape across your shoulders, light enough to stay comfortable through long prayers and full gatherings. At 49 x 49 inches with hand-knotted tassels on all four corners, this is a full-sized men's keffiyeh scarf built for real occasions — Jummah, Eid, Nikah, and every Friday that matters.

  • Classic black fishnet weave — the most traditional keffiyeh pattern in the world

  • Breathable cotton blend — lightweight for long prayers, structured for a clean drape all day

  • 49 x 49 inches, hand-knotted tassels — full traditional size, worn properly, not decoratively

  • The original keffiyeh pattern — rooted in Arab and Islamic heritage across generations

  • Wear 3 ways — head covering, shoulder wrap, neck wrap

How to Wear the Black & White Keffiyeh Scarf

Way 1: Head Covering

Fold diagonally into a triangle, center across your head with the flat edge forward. Black over a white thobe — composed, grounded, and unmistakable. Pairs with any piece from our men's thobes. This combination has been worn across the Muslim world for generations.

Way 2: Shoulder Wrap

Open fully and drape symmetrically across both shoulders. The black pattern over a white thobe is one of the most dignified formal combinations a Muslim man can wear — rooted, composed, and carrying a history that needs no introduction.

Way 3: Neck Wrap

Fold lengthwise into a narrow band and wrap once at the neck. Sharp in summer. Layered in winter. The man in Toronto wearing this on a Friday morning and the man in Detroit wearing it to an evening gathering are making the same statement — you do not need to explain yourself.

Why Furqanwear

Most keffiyehs online are made for optics — thin fabric, loose weave, built to photograph well and fall apart fast. Furqanwear carries its own inventory. Every keffiyeh we ship is inspected before it leaves — not dropshipped from a warehouse we've never seen.

Premium cotton blend. Full 49 x 49 inches. Hand-knotted tassels that hold. Built for the brother who wears this every Friday, not once for a photo.

We are a Canadian Muslim brand. We ship free across Canada, the USA, Australia, and New Zealand — taxes included, no duties, no surprises. Every piece in our men's Islamic clothing collection is chosen for quality, authenticity, and the dignity it gives the man who wears it.

30-day returns. No questions.

The original. Wear yours with intention.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.
What is a black keffiyeh scarf?
The black keffiyeh is the most traditional and widely recognized keffiyeh pattern in the world. The fishnet weave represents the connection to the Mediterranean Sea, while the bold lines symbolize ancient Arab trade routes. Worn by Muslim and Arab men across Palestine, Jordan, and the wider Arab world for over a century — and today by brothers in the West carrying that same heritage forward.
What size is this keffiyeh scarf?
49" x 49" with hand-knotted tassels on all four corners. Full traditional size — built to be worn properly as a head covering, shoulder wrap, or neck wrap.
How is this different from the solid black keffiyeh?
The Black & White Keffiyeh Scarf is 49" x 49" with the traditional fishnet checkered weave in black. The solid black keffiyeh is a larger 60" x 60" plain black shemagh — different size, different pattern, different occasion. This one is for Jummah and formal wear. The black shemagh is for broader coverage and outdoor use.
How do I wear a black keffiyeh scarf?
Three ways — folded diagonally as a head covering for Jummah and Eid, draped across both shoulders for Nikah and formal gatherings, or wrapped at the neck for everyday modest wear. All three pairs naturally pair with a white or cream thobe.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Free shipping on orders over $100 CAD to the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. All taxes are included — no surprise fees at checkout.
How do I care for this keffiyeh scarf?
Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water in a mesh bag. Wash separately on first use — colors may run. Hang or lay flat to dry in the shade. Never bleach.
